Spain is a country whose history is an undeniable proof of multicultural reality. This peninsula has been the home of many cultures since Celts and Iberian to Greeks, Romans, Muslims, Jews, and so on. Apart from that, because of having a huge cost available we have always been in contact with other countries due to trade. For these reasons, attitudes like racism or xenophobia could be seen ridiculous but they exist and it is an alarming problem.

In my opinion, the level of discrimination varies depending on many factors. The first is the region of the country because it is bigger when the place is smaller. Racism is indeed not only in villages but also in big cities, nonetheless, in these, the situation is progressively changing because of globalization and the bigger number of young people. This is the second factor to take into account, the younger you are the more you tend to accept immigrants.

However, although having an open mind seems to be a part of our evolution, communication, and connection between different societies is easier each day, it is important to make aware people of the disasters that xenophobia has caused in the past. We shouldn’t allow this current increase in extremist political parties that are reappearing in different countries, including Spain.

Do GIFs and emojis affect our language?

This is a highly debated topic which has concerned a huge amount of specialists and ordinary people, not only in the past but also nowadays. It is normal because of the transcendental importance of language due to it is the definitive human characteristic that defines us and tells us apart from the other animals. Who we are? Where do we come from? What is our significance in this immense universe? Perhaps, the way of solving these queues is as simple as understanding ourselves.

Firstly, it is important to understand what is the power of communication with words. When we started using a language we also began to be capable of thinking about the future, predicting it and imagining plans. The other animals, although they could communicate with others of their species, couldn't do that. In addition, the definitive relevance of reasoning with words is that we started to think about ourselves, about our identity. The typical example is that if an animal sees itself in a mirror, it won't be capable of understand what is that, however, we can do it.

As a result,  language is not only used to communicate with others, which is the main argument of the people who agree with the use of emoticons.  Moreover, it will be a disaster to lose this amazing human ability. As I see it, we can indeed express our emotions and moods with images or videos, our ancestors were also capable of that. But the evolution has been in the direction of making more complicated this process, and it has had its reasons.

Apart from that, recent studies have shown up that an extreme use of emoticons make it worse our writing and use of language. We can't allow that, and some measures must be carried out. The human future depends on the present, we can't succumb to an unreasoning world, or we will be going to the past.

Is internet addictive?

It seems to me that the internet effect on society is not as extreme as it could be claimed. However, this is a hotly-debated topic whose solution is by no means simple to reach.

On the one hand, it is well-known the vast impact that a breakthrough can have in people. For instance, a huge range of inventions related to the technology and media, like radio or television, have been conducting society to this globalized world where we are more connected than ever before. Nevertheless, if innovation were to be so hazardous, how would have we progressed?

In fact, we have benefited from it, due to our lives have turned out to be more effortless. However, this is a double-edged sword, because we have developed a high dependence on it. While we used to have face-to-face communication with others, now we are becoming more introverted and also more sedentary. 
Taking all the arguments into account, the question is if something that humans have created could end up taking control over them.

On balance, I feel that we are so concerned about its apparent power that we are leaving aside the one that we have, that is to say, under no circumstances are we to stop using a not biased reasoning and our common sense. In addition, being humble could be a help, that is to say, thinking about from where we come and who we are.

AN ODD HOTEL

Are you getting bored with your routine? Are you aware of how adventurous a holiday could be? If so, this is your hotel.

Actually, it wasn’t my booked destination but it turned out to be superb! I had booked a charming hotel on the coast of Greece, however, my plane got the wrong route and ended to land in Mexico City! Of course, I could complain about my air company, but, fortunately, I decided that it had been an election of fate. As you could guess, I had no site to stay, so that, I went to the most expensive hotel, the only one which has bedrooms available.

No sooner had I come into the hotel than it began to surprise me! It was in a forest, having to spend more than two hours to go there from the town centre. Besides, it was designed like the historical buildings of Gaudí, a Spanish architect. Each “room” was a house, not the typical one because they had a form of dragons. In fact, the complete resort could be felt like a fantastic film, where illusions easily appeared in your mind.

A stunning and colourful atmosphere was surrounding me when a group of Mexicans surprised me singing the traditional “rancheras”. It was an unforgettable night where a mix of true happiness and excitement invaded my body.

In conclusion, I honestly recommend this hotel called “The big dragon” to anybody ready to spend a holiday in a hotel which looks like a “Game of Thrones” scenery.

WHAT IS THE GREATEST VALUE OF COMPETITIVE SPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE?

Contrary to popular belief, this current society is not as sedentary as it is thought to be. Although there is an increasing trend of unhealthy habits, there are still a great number of young people who love the sport. However, it is remarkable that there are both extremes, not doing exercise or living for a competitive sport. For that reason, this essay sets out two points of view, lifestyle and time spending, related to which could be the impact of professional sport.

Nowadays, a lot of teenagers are missed out on many things that tended to be lost because of laziness or lack of initiative and self-organisation. For these reasons, targeting their lives to a meaningful aim like winning a competition could be the solution. Practising a sport involves a daily routine and a healthy lifestyle, which not only provides them with an awesome body but also make them more confident and willing to do anything.

Time is another significant fact to analyse. Although sport is a fruitful way of spending time, this is a double-edged sword. An extreme dedication could head off the young people of other essential life objectives like studying a degree or getting a deserving job. Nonetheless, all depends on how it is scheduled because there have been successful people who have been able to carry out their fame and studies.

On balance, the vast impact of sport is on the lifestyle, due to if doing it, you were to become a more committed and reliable person, besides it would ensure you a healthy future.

HELP TO LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE

Background
Nowadays, it is being carried out in the school an initiative which is about a language course targeted to any student who wants to learn French, as an alternative or counterpart to English, due to this is already being taught ordinarily.

Problems
Although it was an innovative and promising idea in its starts, there have been appreciated a few problems. Firstly, the schedule has come in for a lot of criticism because the classes are just after the end of the compulsory working hours, so both the students and the teachers seem to be exhausted and not as fruitful as they should be. Apart from that, parents have claimed that more specialised teachers, like native ones, would be more qualified to teach their kids.

Recommendations
For these reasons, the solution would be set up the course in the afternoon, and employ better teachers who wouldn’t have to make the effort of staying one hour more added to the ones that they already have to work. In addition, the way of teaching could be a bit different, making the process of learning more interesting and in this way attracting more students. For example, a trip abroad at the end of the course would encourage the students a lot, and also would be useful to invite foreign students, so both parts would be benefited.

On balance, art needs help but courses are not the best solution because it is something personal and sometimes, courses make of the art a commercial production teaching the same to all the students. However, investment in sport is more practical and easier to realise.

Due to this, a better approach to make people aware of history could be the internet, because it is more visual, besides its success has been proved with "youtube" videos, which as films do, turn history into an easy and entertaining subject.

Conversely, it has been made a complete failure in the way of teaching science. Learning the basics of science in school, which include mathematics, is important, but it is more to make people keen on science due to it could be passionating and it makes us more modest. For that reason, books are a fantastic tool for people who want to access science easily.

On balance, my honest opinion is that science needs of books to be more popular and it is high time being that because it has been always targetted to a minority. In addition, unless the undeniable importance of history, it is a bigger knowledge of it between people.

A NECESSITY OF A LANGUAGE COURSE

We belong to a business which is spread all over the world, for that reason, making long journeys abroad is completely essential. As travelling is indispensable, communicating with people who speak in other languages it is too.

Present situation

Nonetheless, it could be dangerous and some people have suffered from psychological illnesses because their minds are not ready to face up to the excess of information available, which is sometimes controversial, in addition to the huge variety of networks which affect our more personal decisions.

A highly impressive talent show has come to Spain recently, it’s called “Dance with creativity”. Probably, you may be tired of this type of TV entertainment so as there are others more innovative or simply you prefer to pick a series out the huge range of them that exists. However, you might regret your first impression, because worth watching this programme!

Firstly, what is it about? Even if its name doesn’t solve your ques I’m going to clarify that, yes, it’s about dancing. Nevertheless, it’s focused on how the participants create their choreography rather than in the final show or the conventional and dull arguments between them –something easily seen in many Spanish TV programmes like “Big Brother”. 

So, the structure of “DWC” could be summed up in this way: in the first episode new contestants are received in a house which is on the outskirts of Madrid, isolated from paparazzi or fans and surrounded by beautiful scenery where the viewer can see the rehearsals. Then, each episode is aimed at one participant –in total 10–, so that it could be seen how they create step by step all the show, having to lead their dancers. Finally, at the latest programme, the participants have to make a choreography all together and then the winner is chosen. 

In my view, not only is a stunning and enjoyable talent show but also it’s capable of encouraging the youngest people to be creative and willing giving the best of themselves with hard working in order to make the most of their talents. This is thanks to the participants who take part in the show, that are like a little genius of the art because of being just teenagers. 

I would recommend this programme to anyone who is keen on dancing or only wants to learn a bit more about it! 

WAYS OF MOTIVATING CHILDREN TO DO REGULAR EXERCISE

Nowadays, getting fit and having convenient health concerns a great number of adults, however, sometimes it seems completely frustrating to reach these aims. Consequently, it is indispensable to consider the problem at its beginnings, thus, when people are children. This could be dealt with taking steps to make a change in parents behaviour or teaching sport from a different approach. 

Wisely, it is well-known the influence made by parents when educating their kids, who copy and trust all from their adults, who should take initiatives which could benefit both them and their children. If were they to understand sport as a way of entertaining, it would have a great success between the youngest people. Nonetheless, under no circumstances should children be restricted from enjoying the free time because of depending on a workout routine.

It is also the case of education provided by schools, but it is controversy. For the one hand, it could teach children the importance of doing exercise and its future benefits. In addition, they could have fun and improve personal contact with others in these days crowded with unreal contact through the internet. From the other hand, it is popular the idea of competitiveness and bullying consequences of doing sport in school. Besides, a lot of students are impaired due to low notes in the Physical Education field.

In the end, we decide to accept the first point of view since it could have an enormous impact on children willingness to do exercise. We agreed that this is an urgent matter to take in serious consideration.

A few years ago, it was run an online resource, a website, to inform any student about the latest news. When starting, a lot of students were able to take advantage of it because of its useful information about the exam's schedule or extra activities in the college.

Present situation
The issue is taking place these days, due to an increase in the number of foreign students. They, target out that when staying in their countries it is needed more advice about what they should visit when being in the College. 

Recommendation
I would definitely recommend catching up with the latest trend in the school and make a total renovation of the website. For instance, information about tourist places, comfortable accommodation and public transport could be superb. This is not new because this type of help has been proved to be of great success in other public facilities.

Besides, its implantation and development would not be costly due to there are many design students available to do the work for a little reward. Apart from that, it would give the college a greater reputation in Europe and it may cause a rise in the investment of public money.

Currently, society is facing an enormous issue that is sedentarism. In the past, our ancestors used to be moving all day, but along the years we have been changing our lifestyle and this has ended in a total rejection to do exercise.

On the one hand, it is claimed that exercise is only for professional sportspeople because you were not keen on exercise, you wouldn't need doing it. This attitude is usually accompanied by a poor diet and bad health habits. 
All of this it is due to typical excuses like the lack of time or the increase in other ways of entertainment such as video games or internet, which are the principal cause of the youth's sedentarism.

As a reaction to this, a lot of physical professionals and nutritionist have called for a bit of concern in governments about how disastrous could be this for the future adults and their health. Consequently, they have developed strategies like making compulsory to do exercise for almost 3 times per week.

It is a coherent measurement, owing to doing exercise we reach our best version of us. That is to say, when a human gets fit, they improve the body image making bigger and stronger their muscles, but also internal processes can be enhanced. For instance, exercise is capable of getting rid of stress and increasing the hours of sleep. Besides,  long-term health is ensured with a bit of moving.

Currently, a lack of interest in science degrees is increasing. That is to say, young people, avoid them to not have to face up an impossible subject in which they would have to put in a lot of effort. In addition to the insecurity of a future stable job. However, these statements are myths encouraged by the media or adopted by students in response to the dull school classes. For that reason, we should promote science because we need a future well being of the earth and humanity.

Changing the general opinion is the first step. It is generally seen famous people who are singers, actors, painters and so on. This is why teenagers admire their careers and want to be like them. Due to that, why don’t we make science programmes or youtube channels? The second option has turned out as a fabulous way to make young people interested in science fields.

It has been also though a big change in how science is taught. Anyone who is not willing or keen on science won’t like a science subject in school. That is because they are dull, ineffective and too difficult in early grades. Consequently, giving a wide context of the scientists and their theory, more practical lessons or lectures given by experts may catch the students attention.

In conclusion, we are looking for a progressive and durable solution, so advertising could be effective but a renovation of education would be the best choice.

A FORMAL LETTER TO THE GOVERNMENT

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in response to the recent law developed by the government. Due to this idea, as a citizen, I am utterly concerned about it, because mobile phones are imprescindible and its prohibition in public spaces would be disastrous to society.

For a start, I would want to focus on the reasons that may have been so convinced as to make bearing in mind such a radical measurement. The main ones are the search of a better society, promoting the empathy and the politeness with actions like recovering traditions as talking to each other when having lunch or avoiding accidents because of the distractions using smartphones in public areas as the subway. In addition to this, shops may be taking advantage of mobiles phones, deceiving their distracted customers.

Sadly, I have to stand out that a law is not always an effective solution. Were people are not allowed to do something, they would find a way to do it, that is to say, mobile phones are currently needed, not only for entertaining but also for working. For that reason, a law like it would take a dreadfully brutal impact on the population and consequently, their reasonable rejection.

In conclusion, I would advise you to remove this law because though the problems which are targeted to are true, I do not agree with a measurement that involves a cut on people freedom.

HOW GOVERNMENTS COULD PROTECT ENDANGERED SPECIES?

Species’ extinction is not a problem considered by governments although it is deeply troubling for any country’s environment. It is a direct consequence of global warming and climate change, apart from other causes. In addition to the brutal point that is to lose biodiversity, wildlife is a step in the vital natural system which supports the earth capacity to harbor life. For these reasons, it is our mission to take measures so that to stop habitat destruction and help endangered species.

For example, we could call on governments to search for solutions to the problem, ones such as laws are. Sadly, in many countries, mainly of Africa and Asia, hunting wild species is legal or if not, the control over it is really poor. So that, laws are needed, not only to do the hunt forbid but also to give alternatives to the undeveloped countries and people with scarce resources whose only trade is selling wild animals.

Besides, the issue in these countries, and also in the developed ones, is bigger than that. The fact is that animals are losing their habitats because the available countryside is going away. Consequently, many of them are becoming extinct and others are going to the incorrect areas, like the urban spaces or human farms, to get food and survive. That is to say, were protected zones built up, many species would find a home to live and the farmers would not have to kill them.

On balance, the best solution from my perspective is to make special areas because this will be like to kill two birds with one stone, providing habits to the animals and protecting them from hunting.

WHY PRISONS COULD BE AN INTERESTING TOPIC?

“Orange is the new black” and “Face to face” are two TV series that have recently gripped me, and surprisingly, both are about how life is in a woman’s prison. The first is a USA production and the other is a Spanish one, and apart from the principal plot, they are different.

Would you prefer to watch a drama with a bit of comedy or a true comedy based on a dramatic story? That is the main start point. Both focus the plot in a woman, but in each series, she is different. OITNB is featuring by a superficial affluent girl who was sentenced to prison because of a romantic story with a girlfriend who was dealing with drugs, although a business girl who helpt her husband to steal public money is the main character of FTF. 

The setting is subtly different in OITNB, a low-security prison without individual cells separated by bars, where it’s mixed a joking but ironic atmosphere in contrast to the most deeply moving personal stories of the prisoners told by flashbacks to the past of the characters. However, FTF is more similar to police series, since it has a complex but completely unconvincing and unrealistic plot, developed in a depressing building where the gloom is appreciated.

To sum up, my view is that both series are well developed and carried on by characters with excellent acting skills, but at first glance, you would be able to see the rage, sadness, and fear that insight FTF in contrast to free love, fight and consolation feeling that surrounds OITNB. I would recommend you to see both because you can take advantage of the two series.

INTRODUCTION

This report aims to get the attention of foreign to visit the fantastic villages which are settled in the centre of Spain. With this thought in mind, they will be described, and also, it will be detailed the relevance of them in the Spanish culture and how they could be known.

THEIR PECULIAR CHARACTERISTICS

It is important to clarify that they are not abandoned, rather than, they are partially populated mainly with ancients and a few adults. I remember going to a village where it was typical doing a vegetables’ contest in which agriculturers come with their best crops and strange pieces like big watermelons or fruit with eerie colours.

RECOMMENDATIONS

I strongly recommend visiting them to have fun with the traditional customs and to meet really interesting people who seem to be provincial but who know more about life than we could imagine. Although they are deteriorated and in need of more young habitants, this could be reached if tourism is increased.

ARE YOU AWARE OF WORLD'S POVERTY?

Nowadays, poverty is a real and troubling fact that involves all the population, nevertheless, it seems that, in developed countries, most of the people aren’t concerned about it. Of course, this is the true relevant worry, as if we don’t know a problem, we will never reach the solution.

One could be the influence of charities on society. Undoubtedly, they can tell the truth due to their contact with poor people, which provide them with actual information and personal livings that could be transmitted to the rest of the world, making a big impact on the people’s sensitivity. However, I think that some precautions must be taken, because there are associations which speak about their humanity aids, but, in reality, they only take advantage of the donated money.

Also, another way to inform people is education. We must think about children like the adults of the future, the ones who could solve the actual problems and make the significant changes that we are looking forward to. That is the reason for what young people must be aware of the scarce resources which are causing a big contrast between rich and poor people. They have to realize that they are lucky, but this doesn’t mean to do anything to solve the problems that surround them.

In summary, education in social situations is really important, but the work which could be developed by charities if we supported them would be much more effective and would have a fast impact than education, whose help would take a long time to come.

PERSONAL CONTACT

Nowadays, it seems that we have lost our natural capability of communication. Despite the amazing range of contact methods we are more alone than ever before, moreover, we sometimes aren't able to get in touch with reality.

For example, you only need to ask your parents about how they kept their friendships and you would get surprised. They used letters to contact with childhood friends or eerily the landline to meet with their current ones. However, they have made permanent pals, the ones who are called true friends, in comparison with the casual or fair-weather friends that are typical of social network sites.

Who doesn't have hundreds of buddies on instagram, facebook or twitter? This is a current problem, and we must take it seriously. These days, it's normal to convey lots of information through the internet, and this could turn unhealthy for many people. For instance, it's popular the idea of the nerd, a person who comes across as shy, introvert and unsocial. But this isn't new, people like them have existed many years ago, the fundamental trouble is that the amount of them is increasing because of the use of smartphones.

With a smartphone, you can disconnect from the world, get immersed in its screen and forget your daily day life. I have personally been able to see these people, who are without going far-flung between my personal buddies.

To sum up, the excess of means of communication has made the face-to-face speak a lost art, and this is terrific. I prefer more personal contact, like the one that you can get of letters, the typical handwritten messages which can get soppy, heartrending or romantic but always transmitting a depth feeling and making you anxious to meet with someone who is a pleasure to be around.

We are real, we are humans, we need to do the things in person. Forget the internet reputation, your online profile, and try to establish your real personality, try to be a true person, not a virtual one!

LIFE OUT OF THE EARTH

What the meaning of "planet" is I am sure that you don't know. "Planet" is a word whose meaning, which has the origin in the Greek language, is:
 " A planet is a wanderer which hasn't set in any place, like a moving light that  is seen but nobody knows a thing about it"
The Greeks spoke in this way about planets because they thought the stars were stopped and the planets were another type of strange stars which moved without attending any norm.

All of this makes me think about our importance in the Universe. Were we significant, why would live in a simple wanderer, one like the others? Not only that, in the latest decades have been discovered more and more galaxies and an incredible number of planets. So, my thoughts are clear, more civilizations must exist apart from us.

However, we can't know more about that. Life is a consequence of the different combinations of carbon, but this is only a simple answer. If you ask a scientific, they would tell you about the vital functions: "growth, movement, reproduction, respiration, nutrition, and excretion" but what this means?  It looks like life is all that want to live and last in time. But in these terms, the entire universe is alive for me. It grew up in the Big Bang, now is spreading out, there is a chance of the existence of other dimensions which may attend the evolution laws  (I will talk about this in another post). Moreover, there are stars which are constantly fed up with hydrogen and they excrete helio and other elements. In addition to this, the Universe breaths energy, this is its oxygen.

The Universe could be a living being, and also, it is probably that other forms of life (made or not with carbon) exist, and they may live in our Solar system, in our Galaxy, in another spot of the Universe but also in other dimension or in the own Earth.

But I think that we are committing a big mistake when we talk of life in this way. Our real desire is to find out intelligent life, that is to say, a life which is capable of reasoning, questioning, like us, our true cause of being in the Universe. Life under these conditions may be found but is surely less abundant. Or maybe no... Who knows.

IS THERE A GOD?

This question is very usual not only nowadays but also in the past. We all know about religions used as the best tool used to answer a large number of questions typically kept in human minds. In spite of that fact, I think, so claimed Hawking, religions are only a premature attempt to solve our problems, a very oldfashioned way.

We have created the science to help us in this human concern, and should we care about the existence of a God? I'm afraid not.

What is usually recurrent between scientists is the Big Bang theory, an almost finished mathematical theory which explains the origin of the Universe. In no way am I tell it now, seeing that I would require many posts, even though it is easy summing up:

The Universe was an infinitely small point of matter and energy which was not in the vacuum but literally in the nothing. What I have already said is a common mistake that usually leaves us to a road with no way out. The vacuum needs space. We define it as the lack of mattery (mattery which was before in a space). So, if in the Big Bang space was created, it is an incoherence to say that there was space before it.
Said that what happened next was the inflation, the fast expansion of the Universe under high influence of energy. In this process, the fundamental particles were created, also the light, and science can prove it in the microwave background.

Since then, science is capable of explaining almost all physical and biological phenomenons, so where is the problem? One of the most awareness questions is: who started the Big Bang? Here appear all the religions with their fantastic and easy answers, but I propose another solution.

What if the Big Bang was the start of the time, what if there wasn't a past before the Big Bang?

This is how it happens in the black holes. The time stops because nothing could be faster than the light, the black holes absorb everything, also the time.

To end up, if there wasn't a space to be in, an there wasn't a time, how could exist a God?

ABOUT THE PEOPLE BEHAVOUR...

Well, it’s important to know that people aren’t good. Sounding odd or not, this is a reality all of us must recognize.

I have recently watched a chapter of a series called “electric dreams”, and despite the fact that I’m talking about it, I didn’t like it at all just at the moment after ended it. Since it wasn’t long enough from my view, and despite being a good idea, the chapter blows up your mind at the end.

Firstly, I’m going, to sum up, the plot. It’s about a dystopia of the world, one where appear some guys called “needles” whose strange ability is to read the thoughts of the rest regular humans. This is not liked by anybody, because it’s a way of losing freedom, due to the use of these “needles” by the police.

The situation is unsustainable, the revolts on the streets are going up, and people on both sides of the problem don't agree with giving up their ideas. In addition, we have to imagine a poor scenery, surrounded by pollution and chaos: an intense grey sky covered by smoke clouds, cities where no more cars can have a place in or an increasing overpopulation that is cutting down vital resources and causing many critical economic problems.

Having said that, now it’s understandable that the society is corrupted, has lost all its moral statements, and lies are as usual as breathing. Of course, the instant result of the “needles” taking place in that world, is showing up the worse side of the humans. For that reason, the end of the chapter is the victory of the evil, the clash between humans and “needles”, which could be understood like normal people fighting with their own lies.
