Why are we in the way that we are? No matter where people
are born or how many of us habit the earth, each one is different from another.
For that reason, one of the more significant and recurrent questions is how the
personality is built, what could be the causes. This essay discusses the two
principal keys to understand a person’s behaviour: their ancestors and
education.
It is generally said by biologists that we depend on our
DNA, amazingly it manages the formation of our bodies due to be contained in
our cells. Perhaps it may sound a rule of thumb that we are like our
grandparents because of sharing their type of hair, eye’s color and so on.
However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, because we also share inherited
diseases and also their attitudes. That is to say, we have to understand that
our mind takes control over all that we do, and it reaches its objectives establishing
connections between neurons, which are cells with DNA. So, it has been proved
that genetics is relevant to explain the personality, but it is all?
The influence of family takes an essential part in someone’s
behaviour, demonstrated in much research and by famous psychologists like
Freud. We can appreciate it by ourselves going to a high school class. There we
would see thirty different students from a huge variety of countries receiving
the same education and teacher’s explanations. Nevertheless, some of them would
behave un-politically and others well. In that point, you would realize that in
the majority of the bad students’ cases are irresponsible parents who are
spoiled their children.
In conclusion, in both explanations, there are facts in favour
and opposed proofs, but from my view, science is always more objective and
completely convincing and so its outcomes.
